I am working for the Iowa Democratic Party, stationed in sunny Des Moines, IA. I am not a Democrat. I am, however, worth $14 an hour, so let’s just have that out in the open right now. I do not particularly care about politics. I’m just a college student who would much rather focus on less superficial things, like video games or Dungeons and Dragons.
Regardless, I needed a job for the summertime. I looked high and low for something that was easy, high-paying and short. Not to brag, but I am hugely overqualified for any typical wage slave job. My mind works too abstractly for things like that. As believable as it is, that took out about 95% of the typical college kid jobs off the market. Unlike most English majors, I have far too much pride in my intelligence to be forced to remember that the customer is always right.So, I needed a job where I would have a considerable amount of freedom to do what I please. My beautiful, lovely wife was very instrumental in this process. She loves to find jobs for the both of us, especially if it’s easy money. This job pretty much qualified. $14 an hour for three months to go around and get doors slammed in my face? Please and thank you. Let it be known, from this point on, that my wife is very pretty and smart and the sole reason for this entire thing. Just so you know.

Aaron Harrison is a student at Drake University, in Des Moines, IA. He has been writing for ever since he read his first comic book. That book was G.I. Joe #117, and he is forever thankful that Larry Hama picked up the pen and made Cobra Commander look cool. He has a wife, Rachel, and hates pets.
