About the Book

Thus Spoke The Last Rebel is a selection of poetry and prose driven by the incessant pursuit of truth and meaning in a world that often obscures meaning and impedes the will to truth.

The selection of poetry and prose questions established attitudes concerning such matters as knowledge, faith, morality, love, weakness, nature, urbanisation, as well as the modern conception of uniqueness and originality. Rather than attempting to cast off the ideal realm entirely, Thus Spoke The Last Rebel seeks to retrieve its remnants in the fissures of actuality.

Avid readers shall be taken through a variety of humanistic themes, and while wrestling with the poet's worldview, they may just question their own "truths" along the way.

About the Author

Igor Shoikhedbrod is a University of Toronto student studying philosophy and political science. He has always taken a keen interest in poetry, which was encouraged through the the reading of Lord Byron, Omar Khayyám, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow and Oscar Wilde. He credits Jack London's ambitious will to write as the stepping stone that motivated his personal ambition to utilise poetry as a method of literary criticism.
