About the Author
Patrick D. Kelly is a member of the law firm Steptoe & Johnson PLLC. He serves as the managing member of the firm’s Charleston office. During the course of his career, Pat has served on the firm’s recruiting committee, as “marketing partner,” and on the firm’s executive committee. In these various positions, Pat has worked with many young professionals. He has observed firsthand the challenges that they face in developing a book of business.
Pat faced those same challenges after graduating from law school and searched for resources to help him develop the competitive edge that he needed. Nothing was available. It was at this time that he conceived the idea of writing a book that focused on practical ideas that anyone could implement to develop a client base.
Pat has drawn on his twenty years of legal practice, service as general counsel to a governor and leadership positions on numerous boards and commissions to create his book Rainmaking 101.
