It is very easy to explode into violence; but to control ones base instincts and to forgive needs a lot of inner strength and character. Only a strong person with a sound character can accomplish this difficult feat.
Weak people resort to violence; strong and wise resort to diplomacy and discussion to solve problems which confront them.
If a discussion fails once, do it a second time. If it fails a 2nd time do it again. If it fails again, continue doing it till you succeed. Even if this process has to be repeated a thousand times, do it. It is worth doing it a thousand times rather than losing one innocent life.
A good leader goes to the root cause of the problem and solves it in order to bring permanent solutions. He does not make superficial decisions; on the other hand he makes decisions with wisdom and the solutions he makes will be hailed and praised forever.
As an example Guru pointed out the sequence of events that happened in USA before and after the heinous 9/11 incident.
Before 9/11, America was an over confidant nation, secure in their status of being the only super power in the world. They would have scoffed and brushed aside the notion that any one would even dare to attack them in their home ground.
Even if the authorities were informed about the impending disaster, they would have considered it as the ramblings of an unhinged mind.
Then disaster struck and the cowardly act of 9/11 was enacted.
Subsequently, they lost all control and most of what happened in the last six years was actions which lacked wisdom.
When the terrorists destroyed the World Trade Centre, they symbolically attacked America’s economy.
Six years after 9/11, America’s economy is in trouble as a result of the injudicious acts of its leaders. In effect, the terrorists have achieved what they set out to do six years ago, destroy America’s economy.
It is estimated that U S A’s national debt at present stands at 10 trillion dollars. Can America get out of the hole it had fallen into, unscathed?
There is a simple solution. If all the high income group and millionaires of America decide to loan or donate 50% of their wealth back to U S A, all their problems may be solved. After all, these people accumulated their wealth as a result of the dynamicity which existed there. They may not have made their fortune if they were born in some other country. In fact they owe it to their country.
This gesture will also help all the poor people burdened with the idea of loosing their homes; it may be possible to give back their houses to them as a gift. What a wonderful humanitarian gesture it will be? But will the rich in America do it: probably not? <>< body="">
