The Enchanted Toy Shop
It's Christmas time and Mrs. Goody the owner of The Enchanted Toy Shop and her eight year old daughter, Cindy are very busy preparing to open the toy shop. Mrs. Goody needs to make enough money by Christmas Eve to pay off the final mortgage payment. Otherwise mean, old Mr. Cranky will tear it down and build a garbage dump. He plans to come back after midnight with his son Bully and Bully's friend Lumpy and wreck the toy shop.
When the clock strikes twelve the Enchantment begins and the toys come alive and sing, dance and play. Jack in the Box pops up and says, "Play Time!" The toy soldiers and their captain march off the shelves. Dancing Doll and all the dolls begin dancing. Teddy Bear, along with the lions and tigers, Raggedy Ann and Andy and all the others begin their fun time.
But the Captain of the toy soldiers has heard Cranky's plan and he tells all the toys that they must save the toy shop. The Captain and all the toys conspire to save the toy shop. This charming story sprinkled with merry humor has a message for every reader that is revealed when we learn the surprising reason why Mr. Cranky is so mean.
