You are the Mirror of my Heart
Mirrors, mirrors on the wall.
I’ve learnt to despise you, one and all.
In your reflections my soul does hide.
You watched me fall before I could rise.
For you darling were the mirror of my heart.
My one desire, a new start.
But now it’s shattered, all is lost.
I doubt my heart can take the cost.
Like the picture of Dorian Grey.
All my life’s hopes fell away.
I loved you truly, I loved you deep.
And you are the only one my sweet.
Instead of running to turn away.
I wish you would return to me one day.
I need your love to hold me near.
To bring me life, to bring me cheer.
So now my shattered dreams you hold.
In the fragments, broken and cold.
Only you my love, can put them back.
You have my heart, that I now lack.
My empty shell, left inert.
Just emotions left in the dirt.
Do you have feelings left for me.
You have my heart, you hold the key.
Has your love turned to hate?
This deadly silence I can’t take.
Mistakes were made on both sides.
For from ourselves, we cannot hide.
Perhaps in time, you can forgive my mistakes.
There are some feelings that can’t be faked.
I wish that you could only see.
The heart and soul, that was me.
And find it in your heart to forgive.
So once again I can love and live.
Your respect, friendship and love, I want to earn.
For by your side, I’ll always yearn.
So now I bid a fond adieu.
I hope that all goes well with you.
I wish you health and happiness.
I wish it was with me, I must confess.
For life without you is not worthwhile.

About the Book
The Writings within these covers are a collection of Romantic and bittersweet Poems. Although largely drawn on my own experiences through out the years. They are for all of those, past, present and future. Who are yet to love. Who are still in love. And those, who have known love and have lost that love.
I would also like to dedicate this book and the contents herein.
To Lynn. Who has been my main inspiration for these works. And through good times and bad. Her love, kindness, warm heart and patience, through times when I’d lost the plot. Has drawn out of me the ability to put my feelings into words. In short, she has taught me how to love and live. And will always have a place in my heart.
Also to my sister, Anne, family and friends. But mostly to my children.
Helen, Sara, Keith, Julie and Jenny.
Who’s love and understanding, have brought me back from the edge.
