“Over here, what’s the problem?” Bromo questioned.
“We’re under attack! We’re under attack!” he yelled as he ran around not able to stop his movements. “Sir, we’re under attack,” he said again jumping around frantically.
Bromo stared at him as if not understanding.
Bunyod moved in towards the man. “Where are the attackers and how many of them?”
“In”…the, the man was out of breath and struggled to get out the words, “in the village, they’re in the village tearing up everything, people are dying.”
“How many attackers are there?” Bunyod asked in a steady voice.
The young man stared at Bunyod not able to form the words he wanted to say.
Bunyod grabbed the young man’s jacket. “How many? How many?” He shook the stuttering young man. “How many, boy? “
“Maybe fifty of them,” he said, as he tried to catch his voice once again. “They’re huge, and there are some Trek birds that have riders on them.”
Bunyod turned to Bromo. “Go, get all the roving market guards and anyone else willing to fight and head them over to the village, we have no choice but to engage the beasts where they are. Hurry, man, we’ll meet you there.”
Amal immediately turned to Bunyod. “Count us in, we will fight.”
“So it is written,” Bunyod said, smiling.
As they began to exit, five Qiyom burst into the tent and planted themselves in front of the exit; everyone jumped into fighting positions, ready to counter any of the beasts’ attacks.
The Qiyom did not move, neither did they attack. They were bigger than Amal had realized, the shortest a half head taller than him.
The beasts looked at Amal, with a gravelly voice, their leader said, “We shall join in the hunt to remove the beasts from your village.”
“Why do you care to help us?” Bunyod said with a well-rehearsed distrust in his voice.
“We do not like their smell, it offends us. We know these dirty ones from previous battles. I’m known as Sroch, we will follow the Chosen One.” Slowly the Qiyom turned to Amal then gave a nod of their heads.
“Chosen One? How would they know anything of me?” Amal asked out loud.
“These tents must have ears, Chosen One.” Bunyod gave a small nod of approval to Amal.
Bunyod turned and faced Sroch. “Very well, but you follow our lead, understood?”
“Yes,” Sroch said with an audible growl.

Amal a young dreamer, could never have expected this one.
His father, a prominent inventor and businessman, fed up with the corruption and cynicism of modern society of the future, plans to take his wife, his son Amal, and his sons companion Rachel to a new planet where he has planned an idyllic new colony of likeminded people.
But things go wrong, when the government gets wind of his plan and tries to assassinate him and his family. While the father is killed, the mother gets herself and the children into a time capsule in hopes of a quick rescue. Instead 40,000 years pass, finally waking up to a wild, ancient but futuristic planet.
The boy Amal is befriended by a benign people, the Biink, and learns how to survive in a savage world filled with danger and enemy tribes of half man half animal beings.
Amal grows up to become known as the Chosen One, becomes a leader of his new people, destined to lead a desperate fight for survival against the evil Gorgan clan.
Along the way to the showdown and his destiny, Amal makes many friends, experiences a plethora of adventures, grows to maturity and falls in love.
With the help of his boyhood pet, a genetically created reptile like creature which by now has grown into an enormous dragon, Amal fights to save his world and eventually be re-united with his mother and his childhood friend Rachel.
It almost seems like a dream.
