I immediately became friends with Stan Bowles he passed me a ball and said “hello show us your pedigree chum! With you in the side we can Winalot!” Stan would bet on anything and one day he was playing “keepy uppies” and said “there's nothing I can’t do with a ball!” I replied “I bet you a tenner I’ve a trick you can’t do”
“You’re on mate” he cried. So I sat down and licked mine and said “you can’t do this!”

The book has dozens of fun packed articles and anecdotes that poke fun at the game in general as well as bringing to life a host of fictional characters with a view on football and life in general. How many football programmes have ever claimed to have an interview with Shep the Blue Peter dog? Jeff Jones is a former amateur footballer who for 6 years was editor of "Park Life" the match programme of RTB Ebbw Vale FC a minor Welsh football club."Park Life The Best Bits" is a compilation of the funniest articles etc from the match programmes. At 50 he now accepts that his chances of playing for Manchester United are over so he has written two other books yet unpublished "A game of two halves and six pints!"
and "Super Sunday" Both books packed with humour mostly about his failed attempts to make it as a soccer super star. He lives in Ebbw Vale with his wife Nichola and his two youngest children Bradley and Tayler.
