A Challenge
You who feel you are self-contained,
You who laugh at those who believe;
One day you will find yourselves deflated,
When the Lord says, “only who have faith receive.”
Take all our discoveries and all your solutions,
What is there that we are not given?
Know we not, that even our minds
Have been made to wrestle and to be driven.
God’s challenge to the Universe created,
Is one to seek, to work and to find.
It is to take what has been given with love;
It is to knock and to ask with the mind.
We are challenged to discover the many answers,
In a semi-hard universe we are found.
Disease, drought, earthquakes, storms and more –
Challenge us to find the answers that are bound.
We can thank God He didn’t make it all easy,
Lest we become fat and die in our ease.
God has set up for us many a puzzle,
But it’s for our good, with love, if you please.
So do thank Him for the world as He has made it;
Be sincere in it and get to work with a will.
Ask God for His help as you go at it rejoicing,
He’s doing the working as well – just wait and stand still.

Maybe once or twice in our lives, God grants us the high honor of meeting someone special—someone who walks so closely with Christ that –for the moment—we are sure that we are walking and talking with our Savior. About the Author
Wow, I can’t think of any other words that better describe Marion Woods! He and his wife, Mary, are faithful servants of the Lord and find delight in doing His work. I met this wonderful couple many years ago and continue to enjoy every moment that I spend with them. Whether it be working on a project or just sitting and listening as they share stories of God’s love – I always leave much more blessed!
