The Warrior’s Journal is the forth book by Master Martial Arts Instructor, Mark Edward Cody. Based upon the training journal of coauthor Marrese Crump, this volume chronicles the life philosophy and technique of the man who wrestling legend Dave Batista goes to for combat strategy and martial arts instruction. The Warrior’s Journal taps into the ancient wisdom of the Way of the Warrior. It offers keys to victory in all of life’s arenas of combat. It offers insight into the mind of the Warrior-Philosophers of antiquity whose words and deeds fill the legends of the collective human consciousness.


About the Author

Mark Edward Cody began training in the Martial Arts in 1981. He owned one of the largest Martial art studios in Central Florida for almost twenty years. The Academy of Self Defense offered instruction in Tactical Firearms training, Filipino Combat Systems Kali, Wado Ryu Karate/Jujutsu, Kobujutsu, Kenjutsu and other arts. In 1998, he received his Fifth Degree Black Belt in Wado Ryu. In the same year, Filipino Combat Systems Grand Master Ray Dionaldo promoted him to Guro (martial art guru) in that system. In 2005, Cody was inducted into the World Union of Sokes, Masters and Grand Masters as a Master Martial Arts Instructor and was awarded an honorary Doctorate in Martial Arts Philosophy. Cody is the founder of The Bushido Institute for the Advancement of Martial Arts and Sciences. He is the author of three previous books, Bushido, Filipino Combat Systems and Wado Ryu Karate/Jujutsu. Marrese Crump's passion for martial arts began at a young age. At the age of seven, he began his formal training in Korean Martial Arts. When he was ten years old, he began training under Master Kim-Jae, of Seoul, Korea. Kim-Jae began teaching Marrese the concept of the integration of various martial disciplines. Master Kim advised the young Marrese to travel and study under many experts so that his knowledge would truly reach a master's level. Following the advice of his teacher, Crump immersed himself in various arts from all over the world. He studied Karate, Muay Thai, Kung Fu, Capoeira, Western Boxing, Filipino Kali, Tae Kwon Do and Ninjutsu. On this martial path he received training from some of the greatest masters and grand masters of our time. Crump is pursuing a career in Hollywood. He now dedicates much of his time and energy to the development of martial art action films.
