-Prologue-

Her hair is black and thick, and hangs down loosely over her shoulders. Her cold, dark eyes glisten in the moonlight. They are a unique shade of midnight blue. She is young, almost twenty, but not so naïve to know that she is running for her life. She is confused and scared by what she has witnessed. Her heart racing, she can no longer bear the pain of her aching legs, and her back spasms unwillingly. However, she keeps on running as fast as possible; the fear forces her to carry on regardless. The darkness which surrounds her impairs her vision. The air is warm, and she struggles against the slipping sand underfoot, and finds it difficult to climb the numerous dunes. She knows she can’t stop now. After what has just happened, what she has just seen, she can’t stop now. They are getting closer. She can’t stop now. She is almost there.
