PAIN & ADRENALIN

A couple of lads from another group stumbled across our camp and sat down by the fire to get warm. We chatted for ages until they decided to go. As one of them stud up he stumbled and fell into the fire but instead of rushing to help him everyone grabbed their knife and fork. I feel sorry for him as it must have hurt and I have never seen a couple run so fast in my life. That night one of the last to bed heard a noise in the wood and woke a couple of others who silently went to investigate. The next moment hell broke loose in the camp as a huge moose ran through chased by three of our group. One through a machete at it and it stuck in its leg. They followed it for miles before catching up with it and hacking it to death. They bought back a full leg and had hidden and marked the rest of for any future trips. We had ourselves a bar-b-q and soon got back to our old selves. At the end of the exercise and everyone got back together there was a massive dinner with seconds and thirds if we wanted it. Other teams did not do so well and had nothing to eat for the full period in the bush. Survival is not fun but it can be a laugh.
