Surviving Change

About the Book

This book is about a family from twentieth century America, and highlights a portion of our history, good and bad, giving us a window to view possible changes to our future.  It shows how this particular generation struggled to give us what we have today, how they have set the bar for us to succeed or fail, it will be our choice.  This unique story is about two little children, born in the 1900s.  The book will show you how current events, and their parents’ decisions, ultimately brought them together, how America survived one crisis after another, how these families survived those moments in time, and how fast America changed through the industrial revolution of the 1900s.  This book will show you how these two souls adapted to change, as their journey unfolds.  The story will show you there is no such thing as sacrifice when it comes to love and family.

About the Author

Mary fell in love with history and the dynamics of family at an early age.  She enjoyed summers with her grandparents and trips to the local courthouse to review historical documents. She loves American history and is astonished at how far America has come, in less than three-hundred years, versus the rest of the world, where countries have existed for thousands of years.  It amazed her that the stories she read in school, about a particular event, was a recorded document, within the county it occurred, and not just a fable. She holds a tremendous respect for the generation of the twentieth century, and how they set the bar of standard, which has given us what we have today. 

She loves to evoke the conversation of "what if", and how the past altered the future.  She is also driven to show our children of the future, that they can alter their direction, by examining the past as an instrument for change.  By ignoring an unpleasant situation can bring a pandemic of global proportions to humanity, when it could be prevented at its inception.
