About the Book

It's a story of a black high school in the fifties and sixties during a segregated era of the deep south, specifically the state of Alabama and the amazing final season of 1969-1970, which was the final year before whole scale intergration in the state of Alabama.  The book is a celebration of the accomplishments of East Highland High School and its hall of fame coach Haywood Scissum forty years ago.
