In "Finders Keepers" Sam and his friends struggle with what to do when they find something they see as valuable. Should they find the rightful owner and return it, or should they keep it and enjoy its hidden pleasures themselves?
Character Lesson: Honesty! Just because we find something doesn't mean it is ours to keep. We have a responsibility to try to find the rightful owner if we can. Being honest means doing the right thing.
About the Author
Vicki Westling has taught English, Reading and Special Education at the elementary, secondary and college levels. She has published a novel, Thunder of Silence, and has written childrens books under the sub-title of Sam and Friends. Each of the Sam and Friends books have been inspired by and written as a result of her love of children and her dog Sam with whom she and her husband, Richard, live in a small town in Western New York near the Lake Erie shoreline.
