About the Author
Patricia Hawkinson started writing stories at age 7 in Long Island, New York and developed a gift that penned her "Poetry-Lady" by the time she was in middle school. As a dyslexic child she flipped words around and created songs writing full pages backwards in content. At age 15 her first poem was published in an anthology and after 40 or more titles she decided to self publish her own collection.Contracted in the 1990s at age 20 to ghost write rap lyrics for an entertainment company misguided her talent and gift.In her detour from writing she overcame her learning disability, graduated College with a Criminal Justice Degree and became a mother of two sons. Her first book "Whispers of A Butterfly Warrior: Healing & Recovery on Damascus Road" is unlike any other poetry book on the shelf. Patricia wanted to say it her way, uncensored. With wording too rough and hard to be labeled as a "christian" writer she decided to go a route in writing that no other poet has tried. Spiritual Street Poetry has no genre she could catorgorize for a publishing company so she decided to create it and give it to the world herself. Her words are self-help oriented and faith based but eccentric in delivery of vivid untouchable subjects that must be addressed. Currently she resides in South Carolina.
