It was a quarter after one when we hung up. As I poured my weary body into the warm, salted bath water, my thoughts wandered like an aimless nomad as I still struggled and grappled with my choices . . . Bits and pieces, snippets of memories flashed before me of detailed conversations and moments we shared when we were together on our first date. There was no denying the depth of my feelings for Kevin. He had stolen my heart, swept me off my feet, but even more amazingly, he was the first guy that I had ever swept off his feet! I thought about my past failed relationships, almost relationships and non-relationships. I remembered having incredibly, mind-blowing sex and intimate encounters worthy of juicy gossip at the next day’s gathering around the water cooler. I’ve had distinct memories of men proclaiming their undying love for me on second dates, and ones that even promised me a lifetime of devotion and dedication, but they all dwindled into nothingness. I could remember so many romantic scenarios, but I couldn’t recall once in my 51 years any man ever opening himself up and loving me the way Kevin did. I had to give this man and this love a chance.

About the Book
Debbi is an independent 51 year young mother of two grown sons whose lifestyle was a richly woven tapestry of creative interests and activities. She cherished her great array of friends and enjoyed the past six years of weekends with a man she adored.

About the Author
My Li’l Paradise ~ Built to Last is Ms. Koelbransen’s first serious literary endeavor, however, not her maiden voyage. Her calling to write beckoned her as early as her college days. One of her first short stories was chosen to be published in her college literary magazine and in more recent years, one of her poems was elected for a national publication. This particular project, though, has been a labor of love; therefore, she considers this to be a gift to all those souls who are the perpetually enduring romantics in this world.
Living in the New York/New Jersey area all her life has offered Ms. Koelbransen a heaping dose of diverse opportunities. She has dabbled in a variety of eclectic interests including astrology, designing and creating jewelry, community stage arts and a regular practice of yoga with her furry feline, Amber. When all is said and done, though, Ms. Koesbransen’s greatest inspiration is her two sons, who have taught her so much about life and love and with whom she enjoys a close and fulfilling relationship.
