At Mrs Longhursts Johnny just ready for leaving for work when a knock on the door and enters Danny 'hello Mrs Longhurst, hello Johnny'' ''hello Danny'' Johnny says just going, Johnny kisses his mum and says ''I'll be home later tonight mum do you want me to bring you anything home'' ''no John I'll get what I need to get while Daniel is taking me to the shops'' ''ok then mum see you later'' ''ok John have a nice day and drink plenty of water it's going to be another hot day again today'' ''see you mum, bye Danny'' ''yea ok Johnny, right Mrs Longhurst I see your ready'' Jean wearing an open neck see through blouse'' ''I am Daniel will you please pass me my bottled water'' ''I will Mrs Longhurst and I would like to say you look very nice and cool'' ''why thank you Daniel that’s nice of you to say, come on then Daniel lets go'' ''ok Mrs Longhurst'' Daniel looking and really admiring Jean walking through and locking the door after himself and up the road to the shopping centre.
Down the road at the usual corner are the usual crowd of girls and boys playing football on the causway kicking it really anywhere on the road with the cars swirving as the kids run on the road getting the ball back, cars breaking and stopping!, with mostly the girls shouting ''fuck off you idiots'' to the drivers in the cars. One man who breaks and stops gets out of the car and shouts ''are you sick of living you lot'' they started giving him the two fingered sign then Joe says ''fuck off or we'll smash your fucking windows'' and the cars behind him hooting there horns, the man gets back into his vehicle and drives away, the kids start chanting ''yea fuck off this is our area'' and they arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr are chanting to other motorists going by when one of the girls said
''hey look a fucking funeral parade
coming lets give them some shit as
they are passing" Joe says "get them
eggs out of Johnnys shopping bag and
throw them'' in which they did four of
the girls and two boys got one each
and threw them at the hurst and the
second car with the decieced inside
one person in the second car on his
mobile phone to the police to inform
what was happening on the corner,
kids still chanting calling names also
using the two fingered salute when
Steve says ''hey Joe lets go do
something better'' ''yea why not the
cops will be here soon come on then
lets go up town'' and they leave,
leaving the rest behind.at the Laines
having lunch Jill and Joe eating and
talking "you know Joe our Danny's very
good taking Jean out in the wheelchair
when he could be out with his mate's,
on there way back to Jean'sDanny
pushing Jean up the path to the front
door,he opens and pushs Jean inside,
Jean says "will you put the shopping in
the kitchen Daniel, if you could put the
stuff in the cupboards near the table
and the meats and eggs in the fridge
theres a darling" "alright Mrs Longhurst"
Danny doing that job comes into the
room "O its hot isn't it

About the Author
Born in a coal mining area of Yorkshire at Thorne, Doncaster, at the age of 16 starting out as a pop singer with a rock and roll group called The Debonairs, later as a Red Coat for Butlins in the company of famous people like Bob Monkhouse,Mike and Bernie Winters,Mr Joe [piano] Henderson, my hero Bert Weedon the great guitarist, just to name a few, then back to singing with my own group, comedy show band Travellers Express. I am lucky over the years to have had a very understanding partner working and travelling all over, very rare at home on the weekends but spending more time together now, Annette your wonderfull.
