A Chat Over Coffee

My favourite was my Ted. My little Teddy who’s hair I cut thinking it would grow, but of course it didn’t.  One day Monty our mongrel dog got hold of Ted and took him out into the garden. I saw him through the window at first with Ted in his mouth, shaking him as if he was trying to kill him.  Poor Ted; I ran out into the garden and tried to get him off Monty.  As I lunged towards Monty he darted to the side, then to the other side of me.  He was obviously having a great time.  At one point he put his two front paws together, growled with Ted in his mouth, dropped down onto his paws with his hind quarters in the air and his tail wagging.  He was just looking me in the eye.  I crouched down and lunged forward and almost caught Ted but Monty darted backwards; and I swear he was grinning at me. 

He ran to the back of the garden and threw his head backwards, opened his mouth and rolled Ted further back into his mouth, then clenched his jaws on him again and ran towards me. I caught hold of Ted’s leg and Monty started to snarl and shake his head, so we had a tug of war going on between us.  This lasted for ages until I finally managed to get hold of poor; by now soggy, Ted. 

His tummy was ripped open (no surprise

there) so I lovingly took him upstairs, got a

needle out of my sewing box and threaded it

and proceeded to stitch him up. Monty came

bounding up the stairs and I shooed him out

of my room. Having sewn Ted’s tummy
