About the Book
There are many people writing “poetry” today but, sadly, too few poets. The truth of this should become evident as you read through this latest of Politano’s collection of poems. Painting the Lily is his second book of poetry. The Man and the Moon and Other Poems, also published by AuthorHouse, in 2005, contains 148 his poems. In this current collection his poetical precepts remain unchanged, and are revealed in the preface where he says: “... poetry, like all art, should be enjoyed by the greatest number of people ... it shouldn’t be so personal, so arcane, recondite ... that no one except yourself or the person for whom you wrote it ... can understand it well enough to be able to appreciate it.”
