About the Book
As with any coach, you must start somewhere. It may be on the gridiron coaching the pee-wee's on the fundamentals of football or the baseball diamond instructing the seniors on teamwork. Regardless of your sport, experience or age level, Your First Year… A Rookie's Journey In Coaching, will be an intrical piece to jumpstart your coaching career or add to your existing experience.
Over the course of his first full year as a coach, Coach Jason Smith kept a journal in which he recorded his successes and his failures throughout the season. The journal entries included many topics ranging from how to design a playbook to how to end a season.
About the Author
Jason Smith is the author of Your First Year… A Rookie's Journey In Coaching. He has over fifteen years of playing experience, including playing semi-professionally. He is in his second season as a Head Coach, teaching boys ages fourteen to sixteen the game of football. He has a total of six seasons as both an Assistant Coach and Head Coach.
He currently is in the process of authoring several other titles that deal exclusively with youth football, coaching and leadership.
