LEXIE LUCAS grew up in Garland, Texas and has always been a dog-lover. In 2005, she graduated from the University of North Texas in Denton, where she rescued Harley “Little Boy Brown” off of a windy hill. The adventures and the lessons that Lexie learned while raising this tiny, loveable, and hopelessly stubborn dachshund who loved to run, is what inspired her to write her first children’s book. In her spare time she frequently takes Harley to run, swim, and play ball ERIS GENTLE is a wife, mother, and multi-media artist living in the rural outskirts of Austin, Texas. She studied creative writing and studio art at Louisiana State University and obtained her bachelor’s degree in 2003. Both her art and writing has been featured in The Delta Journal and The Birth Project magazine. Although she enjoys immersing herself in drawing mediums such as charcoal, pastels, and ink, Eris considers her two extraordinary children to be her greatest artistic creations.
