About the Author

Stella Apostolos is a retired Dermatology/surgical nurse-as far removed from being an author as one could possibly be.Putting together a cookbook or even knowing where to begin was the farthest thing from her mind. But you never know where your future takes you. She lives with her husband Spencer in Chelmsford, Mass.and spends Winter time at their home in Florida. They were very busy, as most people are, raising 3 children, working long hours and didn't have a lot of time to cook big meals every day.There was a huge appreciation for her Mom's cooking back then. She now has 5 grandchildren and 2 great grand kids and enjoys cooking for the family especially at holiday time. Now that the kids are on their own she's had much more time to devote to cooking and appreciate the time and effort that's involved in making great meals. After her parents passed away, and in their memory, her motivation and excitement grew and her goal was to share her Mom's many delicious, favorite Greek and American foods and pastries with as many people as possible. Stella's son Spencer shared her passion for these recipes and for organizing this cook book and together they finished what is hopefully a great tribute to her parents. Creating this book was an enormous catharsis during her grief and a feeling of great satisfaction to be able to complete it.
