Renee seemed disturb when she heard the strain in April's voice. She rushed over and stood behind April. "Are you crying?" She turned April toward her. "Girl what's wrong with you," she asked then instantly thought about Lisa. ". . . . Oh that hussy, girl has Lisa been down here bothering you?" "No, and why do you ask?" "Oh boy," said Renee. ". . . . Well I may as well tell you, shit, me and my big mouth. She saw Francisco leaving your room this morning, and it pissed her off. But hey, I'm happy for you girl. It's your business what you do. Though I really can't understand why you would do that to Keith, I mean he's not deserving of it like Jeremy's ass is." April sniffled twice, wiped her eyes and asked, "Why would it piss her off because Francisco was here? Wait, does she think something happened between us?" "Well yeah! Something did happen . . . I mean didn't it?" "No of course not, and you know me better than to ask." "Oh ladies don't talk about--" "No Renee, you don't understand. Nothing happened sweetie." "Really, I knew that, girl," Renee said with a smile, "Good for you. But yeah girl, I'm afraid she thinks you want every man she gets since, well, losing Keith to you. But I'm just glad nothing happened Boo, because you don't have that crap to do girl." Renee shook her head. "It's amazing how angry Lisa became after thinking you and Francisco had rolled in the sheets, and just think she's always with someone else's man, ain't that a bitch girl?" "Girl we both know that Lisa's got serious issues, I'll deal with her later, and anyway, wasn't Francisco with her all last night?" "Girl that slut can't remember," Renee said, glancing around the room, "Said she was out cold on her ass last night, and had no idea where Francisco was until she saw him leaving your room this morning." "Really, was she out too? If she was then Francisco could have left her at any time last night." "True, but hold on, what do you mean, "Was she out too?" Were you two drugged last night you think? I mean what happened to you?" "Nothing," April lied, and fought to maintain secrecy, but to her surprise Renee took charge of the situation. Renee all but shook April when she grabbed her shoulders with both her hands. She looked into April's eyes. "April were you assaulted," she asked, and then Renee stood firm with her stare?

April, a successful business woman, couldn't wait to board the cruise ship. Her friends Renee and Lisa traveled the same cruise liner annually. This year Renee phoned and pleaded with April to come along with them. All three friends hadn't 'hung-out' together in a long time, and were all excited. April, a non-drinker, celebrated with her friends and drinks. Soon after she suffered dearly, and ended in the cross-hairs of an unsuspecting predator. While at home Keith attended a pre-scheduled social gala in glitzy upper northwest Washington, D. C. And without April at his side he participated casually in the back room shenanigans of the up-scaled mansion. Ashamed and nowhere to turn, April needed compassion. She rushed home early to be in Keith's arms, but discovered he suffered with symptoms of a summer cold. But was it? Keith was not forthcoming. Is April on a rocky road? About the Author
Roy E. Howard was born and raised in New Orleans, La. His latter years were spent working and living just out side of Washington, D. C., in Forestville, Maryland. Traveling both professionally and personally over the years afforded him a broader insight into matters closest to his heart. And he shares that insight through his writing. His delivery of real-life drama is nothing short of crisp and compelling. He's a realist to say the least. His works are reflections of his uncanny ability to draw true heartbeats from clutter shrouded, real-life situations.
