DESTINY
I really hate to see People who act irresponsibly They seem to have no pride Some even favoring the criminal side
Parents who fail To discipline their child Will soon find They are out of control and wild
Inevitably these children who are rebellious And whose actions are out of line Will soon be candidates for prison Or already in prison - doing time.
Though our laws make it plain to see What is acceptable in our society Some appear to pay no mind at all to what is right And these delinquents do their dirty deeds at night
In spite of it all Some do make good Showing pride in family And in their neighborhood
For those who really try They can plainly see Our lives are only as good As what we make it be
For life doesn't come on a silver platter That's for sure It is measured by our efforts And how much we can endure
And when we pool all our efforts To make life right We should all be able To sleep better at night
Thus, the criminal element that nags at us Will soon lose it's ability To maintain it's grip On our community
Still, there are no guarantees Of peace of mind If we allow the criminals the freedom To work overtime
So, fellow citizens, don't turn a blind eye Or a deaf ear - as they say For, ignoring a major problem Won't make the problem go away
For it will soon become a cancer on our society That can't be ignored So, wake up America For crime is a problem we can ill afford!
Now, what will it take for you to realize You need to open your denying eyes For what I write is true Can you not see how this is affecting you?

About the Book
This is a book of rhyming poetry. Poetry about many facets of life about and including crime, passions, feelings, character, religion, politics, personal improvement, personal issues, children, the raising of our children, families, discipline, our responsibilities, encouragement and so much more. It is a personal letter to you - shared feelings that affect us as passing souls in our lifetime. It includes an observation of many years - both of long ago and the present. It contains issues like anger, frustrations, and self control. It is also an attempt to awaken the sensibilities of those with a short attention span - to the serious issues that affect us all in this day and age. Poetry to perhaps make you think, stirring your feelings as mine has been stirred. Hopefully, you too, will read and then say "Yes, oh yes, I can identify with this!" About the Author
This Author had an awakening of her ability to touch and communicate with others, through rhyming poetry, much later in her life. She realized, one day, she had issues that had not been resolved and had the need to address them and resolve them in her own mind. Through poetry she found that she had much in common with others with similar backgrounds and feelings and thus, opening the door to the hearts and minds of fellow compassionate souls. Her aim is to help, entertain and inspire readers through the sweet rhythm of rhyming poetry!
