Vince Addamo’s writing career began after taking early retirement as a Facilities Engineer with the Grumman Aerospace Corporation. He answered an ad for a volunteer publicists at the Las Vegas chapter of the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP). His duties at RSVP were to interview and report the activities of the many volunteers in the field for the purpose of recognizing their contributions.

            At first, his articles only appeared in the RSVP quarterly newsletters. After approximately one year, Nevada Senior World Newspaper in Arizona and Nevada; Senior Spectrum in Reno; and The Las Vegas Senior Press, also began publishing his articles. After leaving RSVP in 1996, he continued writing for Nevada Senior World until 2009. During that time Nevada Senior World changed its name to Lovin’ Life after 50.

            Other writing works include two years writing and editing newsletters for the Las Vegas Affiliate of Habitat for Humanity. He spent ten years with Nevada Senior Games, Inc. (Senior Olympics) over which time he served as publicist, vice president, president and executive director. Vince has been honoring seniors with his biographical articles for sixteen years.

            The son of Italian immigrants, Vince was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York.  Soon after his marriage to Rose they bought a home in Levittown, Long Island where they raised their three children. Thirty years later, after retirement from the Grumman Aerospace Corporation, and with all of his children safely married and settled and on their own, he and his wife moved to Las Vegas to enjoy golf, dry weather and abundant sunshine.
