About the Book

This book tells the story in poem version about my life from a child to present day as a senior.  It includes my heritage, my good and my bad times that I encountered in my life. Also, it is about the Canadian poor, the Canadian government, what is going on in the world today, what we take for granted, and friends.

 


About the Author

Helen Viner Doyle was born in a small community in Kings County, Nova Scotia. Born of mixed blood Canadian Native (Cherokee), Canadian Black and European (German).  Her and her family survives poverty and racism.  She lived in the country until she was seventeen and moved to the city of Halifax to live with her older sister.

She married, now divorced had three children Joanne, Michael and Angela. She has eight grandchildren. Her first job was at Zellers on Barrington Street. From there she went to work for the Civil Service Commission and her last job in Nova Scotia was at Veterans Affairs in Dartmouth.  From there she moved to Toronto and became an employee of Toronto Dominion Bank from which she retired.

She now lives in Mississauga, Ontario and is putting all her time in writing poetry.

Each poem in this book tells a story of a part of her life from childhood to present day.
