About the Author

The author , William (Bill) Taylor, named after his Grandfather, William Jefferson Taylor, who was known as Jeff Taylor. At birth Bill was called Billy Jeff, then later , Billy, and then Bill.

Bill was born in Cherokee County Georgia. Not long after his birth,  his parents , Bill, his older brother James, and younger sister Betty moved back to Dawson County, Georgia- back to the same neighborhood  where his father was born and grew up. Bill’s mother was a native of Cherokee County, Georgia and a graduate of Berry School, now Berry College. She taught school  for several years before she and his father  met and married.

The author received his pre- college education from the public schools of Georgia, where he was an outstanding athlete in baseball and basketball and for several years later after high school .He later became an excellent golfer.

 

At the age of twenty six already married and with one child, he enrolled in college to prepare himself for the preaching of the gospel. He later received his theological education from Southeastern Baptist  Seminary, Wake Forest NC. As a sophomore in college he was called to serve two country churches that shared their pastor. The first year as the pastor of these two churches fifty new members were added to these church by baptism. This was the beginning of a fantastic ministry that has resulted in thousands  making decisions for Christ , as he has served  the Lord as a pastor, evangelist, and personal soul winner. His beautiful wife Eva, and  mother of their two daughters , serving in her own quiet way , encouraging and praying for him, until the Lord took her to her heavenly home, after over sixty wonderful years together in marriage.
