Going to a new city and start a new life can be very challenging for a teenage girl. You have to make new friends, start everything over. Well, did it really matter for me? Nobody ever paid attention to me in Kentucky. No one besides my parents and the blind lady next door has ever told me “Victoria, you're a beautiful girl.” At school, I was always known for the math geek, the unimportant girl. I was best known for the girl who puked in ninth grade in front of the whole school. What a shame, that day I swore I would never go back to school. I was raised in a poor family, with nothing but a family farm. Who would pay attention to a girl like me? Where I'm from to be noticed, you had to be the richest or the hottest girl at school. Kentucky is my hometown, I was born and raised there; and I hated it there, I hated my grandpa's farm, my school, my peers, I hated everyone. I used to say that I would do anything to be popular, I would just do anything for a guy to tell me “hey, Victoria would you like to be my date for the homecoming dance? “ Or “hey Victoria, this dress looks great on you”. I would do just about anything for the popular girls to tell me” Hey, Vickie want to hang out at the mall? “My only friends were my parents. God I hated my life, I just wanted to leave, go far away, to another country where I would meet new people and be different. Well, sadly, I guess my wish came true, in a different way. When my father died, he left me and my mother fifty million dollars. If you're wondering how such a poor family can have fifty million dollars, well I think you have the answer, lottery of course. My mother's name was Lisa. She was the sweetest woman I've never met and she loved me more than anything in the world. After my father's death, she wanted to start a new life and get rid of the unbearable memories. I guess even her was tired of the boring old small town life. Everyday was the same; working on the farm, hoping to get some milk from Tina, our cow. We decided to move to Los Angeles. I always wanted to go leave there. I heard, that was just a beautiful place and maybe who knows I could be the next prom queen there. My mother wanted to surprise me, I've never leaved in a house before, and the farm was my home. When I arrived to Los Angeles, everything looked so different; in my head I was thinking that's my only chance to have my dream come true, to be noticed, to be popular.

About the Book
Victoria is a seventeen year old girl born and raised in a small town in Kentucky. Her father just passed away leaving them with fifty million dollars that he won from a lottery. Lisa, Victoria's mother decides to move to Los Angeles to start a new life with her only daughter. With the hope of gaining popularity and trying to fit in, Victoria becomes friends with the hottest and most popular kids at her high school. For a while, Victoria thought she was living the perfect life with her so-called friends who were just taking advantage of her money and her innocence. As Victoria keeps on hanging out with Gwen and the other kids, she begins to become more and more like them. She became involved in many horrible things such as alcohol, drugs, drinking and cutting school until she makes the biggest mistake of her life that will change her life foreever.
About the Author
Vanessa Daze was born in May 8, 1993. She began writing since she was about nine. She started writing this novel, “Good Girl Gone Bad” around the mid-year in 2008 and finished it in July 2009. Currently, Vanessa Daze is attending High School.
