Mathius ever so gently did land and tried to extend out his hand. The boy startled and he began to run. Mathius said, “Please! Wait, for I have come down to see what that noise could be.” The boy turning slowly looked at the dragon and said, “Are you going to eat me?” Mathius did chuckle and grin. He said to this boy, “How can you be afraid of me at all for I am so small?” Now the boy also laughed for he did not see how this dragon, big and tall, could think he was so very small.

About the Book
As a mother of three children, I wanted to write a book that young readers could relate to. It's a book of courage and teaches children to never give up. The main character is someone who young readers will be excited about and want to get to know. Parents will appreciate the message and enjoy reading this story to their children. I have read hundreds of books to my children. Seeing my own children's love of reading and the excitement they have when they relate to a character in a book is very rewarding.
About the Author
Michelle Kawane is a first time author and mother of three young children. She initially got the idea for this book following a personal tragedy in her life. She needed to find a way to make sense out of this event and find a way for it to not be an ending but rather a beginning.
