When my mom and dad would take me up to Riley for one of my reconstructive surgeries I recall how hard it was for me to see them leave. It wasn’t the fear of having surgery because franidy I was so young that I was really clueless as to why I was even there. I do remember my dad telling me to “keep my chin up” before he and my mom came back to Kossuth. I guess that was his way of telling me to be brave.
