Poetic Perceptions of Life

UPSIDE DOWN

Suppose the world was upside down

The ground above and the sky below.

The trees would hang from their trunks

And the leaves fly up not down.

The moon and the stars would form a road

And we’d skip from one star to another.

The constellations might twist us around

But we’d eventually find our way.

We’d see the earth from down below

The perspective skewed and strange.

We’d fly in cars instead of planes

And land on the moon when we lost our way.

Like the manna from heaven long ago

Our food would come from above

I’d step on a star to get it

And leisurely eat on the moon.

And if the world turned upside down

Would life be any better?

Would troubles dissolve cause the world is skewed

Or would they just hang in the air?

I think they would stay and hang around

But there’s one thing that could change.

From the new perspective of upside down
