I Wish For A Day Of Good

Long before we were born

The alphabet came to be

So instead of opening our mouths

We wrote things down for all to see

From that we got letters

That made up the words we write

Then sentences from the words

And these sentences could hug or bite

These sentences made stories

For everyone to enjoy

They told both truth and lies

But entertained both girl and boy

But something else happened

Letters made words

Words made lines

Lines made stanzas

Stanzas made poems

Poems made poetry

Poetry brought about songs

Songs brought about musicians

Musicians made music

Music changed the world

But still music is poems

And poems are the world

And so I write letters

That makes words

That makes lines

That makes stanzas

That makes poems

And so I write poems

For both children and adults

To share the feelings we all feel

And to make people laugh

To try to change the world

Because words are power

And poems are very strong

You can call them literature

Or you can make them music

In the end they're still poems

And poems can do so much

They can make us laugh

They can make us cry

They can make us feel

Those emotions we've kept inside

Or the feelings that we lost long ago

Poems can change lives

Poems can change the world

Poems are the world

Will you please stop screaming and listen to me

Oh, how I wish you could see

You're not a pot of boiling water

That's steadily getting hotter and hotter

Try to understand me when I say

Assassinating someone's character is not the way

Destroying your relationship won't help out

Winning the fight is simply not what it's about

There's no need to get angry and steam

For in the end it will only seem

As if your world no longer exists

There's no more pleasure and bliss

Why is it that you won't understand

Getting angry won't solve the problem at hand

Calm down relax a bit and you will see

How easy solving your problems can be

How far exactly do you expect to get

By only screaming likes a mad man but never let

The other person calmly explain

So you understand them and keep your sane

This is no way to live life

The anger might make you reach for a knife

You say things you may not mean

And turn a once peaceful house into an action scene

What's your problem why can't you let it be

If you must go cool down in a tree

Go find a place to calm down and rest

Right that's what is best

Don't starting making a grudge

Where neither person will budge

Say sorry to each other and you will see

Just how happy life can be

There's no need to escalate and make

A small little thing a big one for goodness sake

There's better ways to deal with a conflict

All this fighting is making everyone sick

Will you stop screaming and listen to me

Sunny Bright and Eight Elves

Once upon a clock and a gun

There lived seven elves plus one

There names were Ugly, Unattractive, Silly,

Old Gasbag, Uglier, Dirty, Ikraem, and Billy

Everyday after working at the mine

They sang their way home following the sign

They sang La Dee Da La Dee Too

Off we go to the work we do

This song made no sense for they were headed home from work

Perhaps they were lazy, but did housework

Well on their way they met a small ugly fox

"Hey ugly, Halloween's over and you smell like dirty socks"

The fox would run away like a little girl

The elves would go on living in their own little world

When they got home they met three little pigs

That got money by selling wigs

Well the elves shot the dumb pigs

Then they set fire to the wigs

So now they had dinner cooking

They did not notice the little girl looking

The lady walked in and announced herself

Everyone looked up except for one elf

That pork smells mighty good

I'd love to eat some if I could

Do join us if you may

You are welcome to stay

For she was a young girl

And the first to ever penetrate their world

Meanwhile in the Cardboard Casanova's Castle tower

An ugly queen sang in the shower

Showerhead, Showerhead, on the wall

Who is pretty? (Which doesn't rhyme at all?)

Definitely not you, wrinkly old gasbag

It then said," shut up you old hag"

Sunny Bright is the best

She's good for your health and better than the rest

Why you old rusty showerhead you know nothing

So why did you ask me something?

He then called her every unthinkable word you could think of

Then slapped her with a glove

Well back with the elves, the pork Sunny ate

For dinner did not take long to make

One of them stuffed a pig in the oven to bake

While another shouted shut up for heaven's sake
