This is a unique write about a sheltered church girl curious about life, that became a teenage mother turned drug dealer, turned drug user in the cold windy, war torn, poverty stricken streets of Chicago's West Side. With the loss of her children to the system she thought she had nothing left but to die..."Rock, blows, Park! Rang out like happy slogans of advertisements from dealers to fiends..." With death and the police lurking close by he closed her eyes to retract: How did I get here?...and the ongoing presence of failure, loss and disdain licking at her heels she saw no way out. Had God somehow forgotten about her? Nothing seemed to matter... Be inspired by her unfiltered and uncensored writing of poetry where she found her lesson and her blessing!

Born and raised in Chicago, IL. La`Shea M. Johnson also known as Ms. La`Shea Monique, is sharing one of many gifts, the art of spoken word. Ms. La`Shea Monique has performed at many spoken word arts cafe's in  Chicago, IL and the Huntsville, Al  area's. Ms. La`Shea Monique has been a guest speaker upon request by Alabama A & M University in Huntsville, Alabama she has taught sessions of poetry class at Murry Arts Language Academy in Chicago, IL upon request. as it has been recognized the wealth of knowledge and experience she holds by way of true life experience.As an artist and a person Ms. La`Shea Monique has a messages to share through her own personal trials and tribulations, however painful they may have been as a survivor she feels in keeping quiet she will have lived through her circumstances in vain. La`Shea Monique believes that we go through things in life for the exact purpose of being able to help others that will come behind us....No matter how the voice comes to shed light or warn us we must listen, it could save your life.
