About the Author
David A. Stuart hails from the Caribbean Island of Barbados. He received his early education there at The Combermere School, where he developed his oratorical and leadership skills, whilst an active member of the ISCF (Inter-School Christian fellowship), The Literary and Debating Society and the Army Cadet Corps. He won a three year Aviation Scholarship to England in 1967 which was sponsored by BOAC (British Overseas Airways Corporation, the forerunner of British Airways) and studied at Ealing Technical College, specializing in marketing. Later, he read for an EMBA at The University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus, Trinidad. Mr. Stuart accumulated more than 30 years experience in commercial aviation whilst holding senior sales and management positions with British Airways and International Caribbean Airways. During that time, he became known as a dynamic speaker, organizer, motivator, salesman and winner of several sales achievement awards in England, the Caribbean and Latin America. He co-hosted a weekly TV show “The World of BA” in his native Barbados. He was for a short period the Marketing manager for Barbados Tourism and served also as a Board member. Whilst serving as Director of Marketing and Corporate Development for LIAT the Caribbean Airline from 2002-2003, he created a new brand and livery for the airline and conducted Motivational Courses for their staff. Upon completion of the assignment, he formed Stuart Marketing and Associates to pursue Employee Motivation, Corporate renewal, and Business skills training. LIAT became his first Client. Based in Florida, Mr. Stuart conducts workshops and seminars, makes public presentations and is available for Consultation on Air transportation and Tourism matters. He occasionally plays keyboard, the Guitar and the Musical Saw, and enjoys Golf and writing. He is the Author of”Limited Skies” A Black man's journey through the corporate world.
