About the Book

Rainbow Bridge is a book for parents to read to their children to let them know that they were adopted. It is intended to help children of all ages understand that they are special and that they were specifically chosen to be in their particular family. Even if the child is an infant, the book is meant to be read from the very beginning to allow the child’s parents to get used to verbalizing the word adoption. The other message of the book is that families come in all different color combinations. Whether you are all the same color, or a combination of many, that is what makes your family special.

About the Author

Maria Kelmis was adopted from Greece at the age of fifteen months. She considers her adoption one of the best things that has happened in her life. Part of that is due to the way her parents told her right from the beginning. They surrounded the word adopted with special and loving words. That is why she has such a positive self-image related to her adoption, and it is why she wanted to share that with other adoptees.
