The Mountain Worth Climbing

      When we go through the valley, we allow ourselves to become influenced by the thoughts and imaginations that Satan gives us. We start believing the things that he tells us, such things like, there is no way out, nothing is gong to be accomplished, whatever you try to do will be impossible for you. After a period of time, you end up in a place Ezekiel calls “the valley of dry dead bones.”

      The hand of the Lord was upon me, and carried me out in the spirit of the Lord, and set me down in the midst of the valley which was full of bones, and caused me to pass by them round about: and, behold, there were very many in the open valley; and, lo, they were very dry. And he said unto me, Son of man, can these bones live? And I answered, O Lord God, thou knowest. (Ezekiel 37:1–3)

      Are you in the valley of dryness? A place where there seems no hope in your life? This valley of dry dead bones is a terrible place. This is where Satan wants to keep you in bondage. Where there in no hope for your health, no hope for your finances, no hope in your relationships, and no hope for that situation or circumstance that you are in right now. You have become like dry dead bones, having no enjoyment in life.

      I spent years down in the valley of dry dead bones. The first thirty-seven years of my life were spent being discouraged and unhappy. I always felt that I never got a fair deal out of life. In addition, I felt since I was a nice person, the world owed me a living. Moreover, nothing was ever good enough. I never appreciated anything I had; I always wanted more. Everything I tried to do always seemed to turn out wrong. I remember a song Frank Sinatra sung; the lyrics were, “I did it my way.” This is how I tried to live my life by doing it my way, and by doing so, I stayed in the valley and ended up as dry dead bones.

      There are many ways Satan will use to keep you in bondage down in the valley. I cannot mention all the ways. But what I will do is reveal to you the ways he kept me in the valley for many years, so that the valleys I stayed in you don’t have to stay in.

      So throughout the book, I mention the type of valleys wherein Satan had me in bondage. I pray that as you read this, Jesus will help you to get released from the bondage you’re in and that you will find recovery in your life. Amen.
