The Rollercoaster
Have you ever taken that ride?
As you ride upward you feel good
Anticipating that when you get to the top
The fun will begin
But when you get to the top
It drops
You begin to scream
And wish you hadn’t gone on that ride
Then as you prepare to go up again
You feel fine
Then here it comes again
Your heart begins to palpitate
You tell yourself when you get off
This will never happen again
Once the ride stops and you exit
You walk around the park
As you reflect on all the rides
You go back on the same ride
That you just said you will never ride again
Is it because you are a glutton for pain?
Or is it, how soon you forget?

About the Book
This book gives a narrative account of a woman happily agreeing to marry an old friend; to love, honor and cherish him. However, the outcome of this holy matrimony was significantly different from what she expected. On the pages of this book, you will read how her story poetically unfolds as she gives explicit details of the trials and tribulations she endured being the "virtuous" wife. Throughout the many hurtful and disappointing experiences she encounters, she remembers to stand firm in her unwavering faith, and always recognize the grace of God. This poetic story hopes to inspire others to love and respect self, and to always keep God first.
About the Author
Tinishi Davis resides in the state of Illinois with her family. She has been an educator for over sixteen years. She has recently completed her Doctorate degree. She enjoys being with her family and friends, reading, researching, and working with children. She hopes to one day become a motivational speaker for women who feel they can’t go on in life due to various adversities.
