Is Your Fruit fresh and Juicy? Colossians 1:10 You should walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God. Galatians 5:22 The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness and self-control. Main Point How many of you like banannas? How about sweet crunchy apples? What about cold, juicy grapes or sweet strawberries? All of these are good for you because they have what is called "natural sugar" in them. Candy bars, cakes and cookies do not have natural sugar. They have what is called refined white sugar in them which ultimately makes you feel tired and lazy if you eat too much of them. The sugar in fruit was created within itself from the time it was growing on the tree or plant it came from. Sugar from candy had to be physically put there by man. Let me ask you a question. Would you eat a bananna that had a black peel and had brown spots all over it when you unpeeled it? What about grapes all squishy and moldy or apples all dented and mushy on the inside? You would much prefer the fruit that is fresh and juicy right? Well, just like you would prefer this kind of fruit to go into your stomach God wants to see His good fruit come out of your body to others in the way you feel, say and do things. The Bible tells us that we have the fruit of the spirit inside of us because we have the Holy Spirit inside of us to be our teacher and our guide. We need to listen to Him and pay attention when we make decisions every day. Our fruit of kindness, joy, love, and patience can come out if we make the right chioces. The fruit you have in your house today culd be good however, a week from now it could all go bad and you would not want to eat it. Keep your fruit fresh and juicy as you listen to the Holy Spirit and pray to God for direction in your decisions today. About the Author
Kim Kinsler is an ordained minister as well as a public school teacher. A graduate of Oral Roberts University (93), she has been on missionary trips to: Africa, India, Romania and the Navajo Nation in Window Rock, Arizona sharing God's love and compassion with those less fortunate. Kim has been teaching art for 14 years in the public school system. She feels that her calling in life is to find new exciting ways to make learning fun for children in school as well as in church! Kim believes every experience with children will be remembered. That is why she wrote Impact Me and See! She has volunteered over 15 years in children's ministry during the time her parents were pastors as well with other ministries. Working with beginning churches she knows how difficult it is to start a vital ministry for children that is fun and makes them excited about coming to church.She found many curriculums on the market today are extremely expensive, needing numerous people to act out dramas, work puppet shows and build sets. In reality, she found when beginning a ministry one has difficulty finding finances for these materials. She felt it was necessary to create a series of lessons that were affordable and meaningful for churches just starting or for those who needed a new approach to their teaching styles. Her desired outcome is to empower everyday ordinary people who have compassion and patience by giving them vital concepts and ideas that will really make an impact in the lives of the children they spend quality time with.
