The definition of the word Legacy, “Something handed down from an ancestor or a predecessor or from the past.” Tabloids describe Michael Jackson as a freak, a sideshow, “Wacko Jacko,” if you will. Various media outlets have analyzed every aspect of Michael Jackson’s life, not to provide insight into the man Michael Jackson but more to sell controversies. To provide insight into Michael Jackson you must discuss all aspects of Michael Jackson and not provide a one sided story of his so-called oddities or “strange behavior.” Tabloids various media outlets have provided stories and opinions, they hire experts and analysts to make their opinions sound as if they were facts. Reality is they are opinions nothing more.
Books have been written to try and provide insight into the Legend Michael Jackson. Some of those books have been written by people who knew Michael and have tried to share the love and message of Michael Jackson and provide insight into Michael’s compassion. Other books have joined the media frenzy and contributed to the “controversies,” surrounding Michael Jackson.
Interviews of famous people have been given either to show their love and support of Icon Michael Jackson, or add to the ever growing speculations, and rumors of Michael Jackson. These are all things that provide some insight into the man Michael Jackson.
However, with all of this the character of Michael Jackson has been constantly placed in controversy. There really is only one way to know who the true Michael Jackson was. The Legacy he left behind. What a man or woman does in life just may be the key to understanding the character of a person.

Nearly seven months since he has passed and the world still mourns, the world still cries, the world still has a need for Michael Jackson.
If you question the character of Michael Jackson then take a look at the legacy he has left behind. His legacy does not coincide with tabloids and media outlets, and what they have printed about him. His legacy does not follow those who have sold Michael out for fame or fortune. His Legacy goes far beyond the controversial headlines. His Legacy transcends those who have chosen to believe the rumors. To know the true Michael Jackson you must first know what he stood for in life. You must know what he leaves behind with his passing.
His influence on Music and the Music Industry is without question. This is widely known and talked about. His musical accomplishments alone will tell us that is the most influential artist that ever touched a microphone or graced a stage. In every country around the world, you will find a fan/supporter donning a Fedora hat, with a white glove and happy to show their best Michael Jackson Dance move.
However, hidden behind all the controversies, the speculations, is the true character of Michael Jackson. One that the media have not shown. One that you will find by visiting the hundreds of MJ websites on the internet, one that you can see in the thousands of tributes that are readily available through YouTube and a dozen other places. These tributes are given not just because Michael has passed, they are given to make a stand and show everyone how much Michael Jackson meant to the world. They are given because of the love they want to show the world, they are given in defiance of typical media rumors, and lies. They are given because the world is in need of Love and Healing. This is the true character of Michael Jackson.
We have spent too much time listening to media rumors and lies. We have forgotten these are the same media who praised Michael Jackson before the “Pepsi commercial incident.” Media that before Michael had been diagnosed with Lupus, and Vitiligo was endorsing him at every turn. Then with one false allegations and a few health problems they turned their back on him and started with selling of lies and rumors. Our media have shown time and time again they cannot be trusted.
Love, is the character of Michael Jackson. Healing is his message. These pages are his legacy that lives on forever through us.
How far you go in life depends on your being tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving, and tolerant of the weak and strong. Because someday in your life you will have been all of these.

About the Book
Shawn Henning’s new book is a powerful and overwhelming tribute and legacy to Michael Jackson. In one book, he’s collected love letters, reflections, eulogies, poems, essays and drawings from people throughout the world who have a special appreciation for the King of Pop, Michael Jackson. I was particularly impressed at the diversity of material, from so many different countries and cultures – all of it heartfelt and illuminating.
In We Love You More, we learn about the many different ways that Michael Jackson affected people from all walks of life. The participants talk about how Michael’s music, creativity and pubic example affected their lives and helped them to be better people. The contributions are a wonderful cathartic output to help to come to terms with the loss of Michael’s huge talent. They will not only comfort those who have written them, but those who read them. People will learn about the experiences they have in common, with people throughout the world, who followed Michael’s career, his music, his good deeds and the example he set for this generation and generations to come.
The book will also be of comfort to Michael’s own family. They will see that the spirit of Michael will continue in people everywhere and in many ways and for many reasons. It’s also fascinating to learn what people have to say about different songs and what they meant to their lives. I’m impressed by the diverse elements in the book… from eulogies, to memories to poems and beautiful drawings and paintings and even photo montages at the end. Mr. Henning… you’ve done a wonderful service to the Michael Jackson fan community and I commend you.
