Hello, everyone! Since you’re reading this book, I’m going to assume you either attend Options Charter School or saw the title and thought “Omg! Is that really what the book is called? Do you think the author knew what that meant?”. And yes, I really did. Not to trick anyone into buying this book or to look like a fool, but to get your sole attention. That’s right! You! I wanted you to open this book, flip past the title page, and allow me to give you a gift; a gift of success and a gift of the all too elusive second chance. You might say “what type of second chance?”” or “what if I don’t have the drive or motivation to do better?”. To answer those questions, however, I need to know a little bit more about the reader, you. Were you considered the outcast who never really fit into any specific clique? Are you in high school and afraid you might not be able to get through school due to lack of compassion from teachers, parents, and even fellow students? If any of these questions sprout a yes to your mind, then I may have the answer to all of your dilemmas. No, I’m not psychic and no I won’’t judge you based on your academic stature, actions, or life changing decisions. I am here to open your eyes up to a fresh new start at a refreshingly optimistic opportunity. What would you say to me if I told you that there was a school where teachers get up in the morning just to help an individual like you? Would you laugh at me if I were to say there was a school where everyone is friends and there are no such things as cliques? The truth of the matter is that this school does exist. What school am I fawning over? None other than Options Charter School Carmel has found the secret to an enjoyable and successful high school experience. This school has not only found a way to make learning fun, but it has set the standard. Young adults from all over Indiana have come to realize that history is being made at this very establishment. With under 200 students and ten permanent staff members, Options Carmel has changed the lives of hundreds of floundering students and shown them how to succeed in anything they apply themselves to. This book shows artwork that reflects creativity and the mind behind the students and why they are who they are. Much of the writing explains why they came to Options Carmel, an alternative school, and how it has effected them. Hopefully, this will help future applicants in their search for alternative schooling and help people have a more positive outlook on the school.
