Stephanie had been trying to keep it all together, the ceremony was about to start and she was the maid of honour. Michelle looked absolutely stunning in her form-fitting bodice wedding gown that accentuated her beautiful figure and hid her round stomach very well. She made her way down the aisle holding her father's hand, her face glowing with excitement. Stephanie felt as if she was about to collapse from anxiety with each step Michelle made towards the alter. She had been desperately trying to maintain her composure as she was about to witness the man she loves marries her sister whom she would never, ever dream of hurting. She tried to catch a glimpse of Anthony's face but he was intent on making sure he did not look at her. She could not believe he was really going ahead with this. As Michelle reached the front of the aisle, the hymn stopped and the pastor began. “Dearly beloved we are gathered here today, to witness the marriage of Michelle Rodriguez and Anthony Smith. Marriage is a very important union and should not be entered into lightly…. As Anthony and Michelle come together in holy matrimony, they are making the promise to each other to stay together through thick and thin…..” Stephanie shifted uneasily as she wrestled with the endless thoughts that were racing through her mind. She looked up in an attempt to catch Anthony's eyes; maybe if he just looked at her, maybe he would come to his senses. "If you know of any reason why Anthony Smith and Michelle Rodriguez should not be joined together, speak now….” Stephanie was bursting to say something, she felt faint, the room started to spin around her, she had to say something, she looked around and saw Coco staring at her, with eyes pleading for her not to do anything she might regret. "Do you take this woman to be your lawful wedded wife, to have and to hold, to love and to cherish till death do you part…..” There was a pause, Anthony finally looked over at Stephanie, he could see the pain in her eyes, he knew how much he was hurting her and it killed him inside, but it was too late now. "I... I do” he said forcing the words out as tears streamed down his face. He knew this was the biggest mistake of his life.

Lastly there is Edna, a gold-digging, man-eating bitch who lives life in the fast lane and doesn't believe in settling down, but once she meets Daniel, she changes her mind. He treats her with the respect that she always craved and makes her want to become a better woman, but then her past comes calling.
About the Author
Andreen Mitchell was born in Jamaica and moved to London in the 1990's. She received her LLB degree in law from London Metropolitan University. This is Andreen's first novel.
