I took the little baby child
And held him on my knee,
And ah---he had the sweetest smile
As he looked up at me.
His eyes were big and shining;
His mouth with glee did play,
And though he never spoke a word,
It seemed I heard him say:
“I know that you’re my Daddy.
I’m glad to be here, too.
And though the world is loud and rough,
I know I’m safe with you.
My head is not too steady,
The floor is far below…
But I don’t care for I am sure
You’d never let me go!
I know you’ll get my water---

About the Book
This book of poetry is a chronological order of A.D. Sheetz's life experiences with a variety of topics. His writings became serious during his years in the military during World War II in New Guinea. He felt compelled to write about what was going on around him and was encouraged by his comrades and a nurse. He continued to write during the 1950's of various experiences including hobbies, romance, family, and spiritual insights.
