About the Book

This book is a collection of poems that span over thirty years. They are poems that have both immediacy and patience, charting the author's immersion in the spiritual-political search for inner and outer peace. It's a collection that chronicles the author's growth as a developing voice, reflecting a deep love and connection with the earth. It tells of the yearning for community and its struggles once it is found. These are poems which have nurtured the author over the span of his pilgrimage by means of providing sanctuary; as the walkers were provided sanctuary; taught with tenderness and sometimes harshness. Some poems are peace prayers; prophetic revelations for a hopeful tomorrow and tender reminisces of our bond with the Sacred earth. They are a collection of poems about a specific pilgrimage, yet with the hope of shared universality. They are the author's offering in the search for beauty, wonder and community in the world seldom being disappointed in that search.

About the Author

The author has been writing poetry for over 35 years. He has previously self-published a collection of poems, titled Surrender at Harmony Junction. In 1981 he participated in a cross -country walk for peace and nuclear disarmament called, A Walk To Moscow. An honorably discharged veteran of the United States Air Force stationed at an Intercontinental Missile base, the former communications technician decided to follow his conscience and demonstrate against an escalating cold war arms race. The walk became a spiritual journey of self-discovery, political and social activism. Having experienced life at a more natural pace on the walk, and exercising the discipline of poetry, he has been writing poems about spirituality and nature culminating in this volume on peace. He has several collections of unpublished poems. He has also written a stage play about the walk, Peacewalkers, and two other stage plays, Church of What's Happening Now, and Light of the World. He lives in Fort Collins, Colorado where he lives with his life partner, Nathalie.
