About the Book

On February 4th, 1999 the 690-foot cargo ship named the New Carissa ran aground off the Oregon Coast new Coos Bay.  What started out to be a routine salvageable rescue operation, turned into one of the largest and most expensive maritime disasters ever recorded in Oregon's history.  This is the true story behind the "The Ship That Refused To Die."
