A BROKEN HEART
I've been hurt, my heart is broken.
All the words, for you, I've spoken.
Can't you see how bad I'm hurt?
While she's the one with whom you flirt.
This broken heart has left me mild,
But with your love, I'd turn wild.
I wish my heart could be unraveled
By all the roads be they paved or graveled.
With your love I'd be merry and proud
And never again speak to you out loud.
Can't you see just what you've done.
You've left me in a place where there's no fun.
I love to run, I love to walk,
And with you, I'd love to talk.
Can't you see how much I care,
And all the pains I have to bare?
All the animals run free and wild.
While here I am being treated like a child.
I am no child, I am no baby.
Why can't you treat me like a lady?

Darlene is from a small town in West Virginia. She is married and has 4 children. She started writing poetry as a way to express her feelings when she was in high school. She has been writing for 25 years. As a small child she was separated from her brothers and sisters. Her poems are mostly of her dealings with love and relationships, From hurt to excitement. A treasure of her life. Truly words from her heart. She shares her feelings of her losses and her love in her poetry.
