About the Author
Rhonda became a first time Author in July 2010. Rhonda writes from her heart. All the poems in her book are from her own life experience of 'childhood abuse'. She shares her most intimate personal poems about her abuse. During her childhood she was unable to express all the feelings inside so she started writing about them. Choosing the form of poetry was her way of telling about the hidden, forbidden secrets she kept inside. She wrote daily about the things she hid from the world. Now through many years of counseling, she is ready to share her poems. Her poems tells a story of a little girl who lived in a world of darkness. In her darkness was shame, guilt, despair, pain, saddness, fear and more. She chose the title 'She Has Awaken darkness to light'because the little girl lived in darkness and now through years of counseling she is seeing the light. She wrote this book for all those like herself who suffered with childhood abuse. Abuse of sexual, physical, emotional and verbal ruled her life. Her voice had been muted, until now. The child's 'voice' once stolen and silenced is now speaking. Sharing this raw, open, heartfelt, sad and honest poetry. Rhonda suffers from dyslexia which causes her to misspell and omit words. Many of us never get to speak out about our abuse because as children our ‘voices’ are silenced. We’re told never to tell the secrets that happened in our homes. We are taught to believe if we told no one would believe us. So I decided to share my story through poetry. I hope my book will help others to find their voices.
