Blessed by the Light

What you are about to read next is something that I would never have thought could have or should have happened to me. I had read about things like this in the Bible, and had heard stories, but words cannot really give it the respect it deserves. I always believed in God and knew He was real, but I didn't know how close he really is to us all of the time. I had always thought that I had committed to giving my life to Him and that I was saved, that I would be in heaven someday. I had done this mostly with works and following church procedures, protocols, etc. I never viewed God and Jesus as being my best friend and father, like I know now. It's about having a day to day, hour by hour relationship. That's the way it should be. He doesn't want what you have or do, He wants you! He does hear all of your prayers and he does answer them, if it is His will and in His timing. It was super bowl Sunday, January 28, 1996. I was going to go to the early service at church and get back home. I had stuff to do before the game started and that was on my mind. So went by myself and sat in the back pew as usual. I pretty much wanted to put in my time there and head out. I was thinking about the super bowl game and how it might turn out, who would win, etc. Just another uneventful day so far. Church finally got started and we stood up to sing the hymn. I saw a gold colored vapor/light which had started at the front of the church at the altar and was coming towards me. It took up most of the church. I could feel it getting stronger as it slowly was moving towards me. I knew when it started that it was God. The feeling was love. His presence was slowly coming towards me and getting stronger and stronger the closer it got.
