Mirror Within Somewhere in the dark of night I hear a cry A lonely heart has been broken and left to die Listen very closely and you can hear As if the lonely heart is sobbing so near How long will it take for the pain to go Away from this sadden person who has had a crucial blow Crushed pride and forfeited dreams of tomorrow And all that is left are the tears of sorrow Days and nights with moments that will not end Every second brings torment for the mind to mend Many sleepless nights and longing days Wondering if things will be like this always As the mirror of my soul is turned I can see Is it possible this person is me I do not know who I am now How much more will I endure or allow
Alone Sometimes I feel I’ll be damned Because nobody wants me the way I am I’m stubborn, I’m too laid back, I’m full of pride But deep within the loneliness can hide I don’t want to be alone by myself And the Lord knows it is affecting my health I can’t eat I can’t sleep when he walks away Because I don’t want to face tomorrow alone all day I have felt alone all my life My dad never wanted me he wanted a wife My husband seemed to be choking inside Smothering within himself wanting to run and hide My kids are growing bigger each day They don’t need me I get in their way I made mistakes with them from my heart Which sometimes was not so smart I have tried to be a good daughter, wife, mother and lover But it seems they all turn away to another I do not know how much I can take Oh Please Lord help me for heavens sake

About the Book
All these poems were written over a 30 year period. My life then had a lot of physical and emotional pain I dealt with daily. I struggled trying to find myself so as to raise my two girls with a positive outlook on life. I wrote a lot of poems for therapy for myself to raise my spirits and increase my strength to go on. I wanted my children to have a better life than I seemed to be living and yet I wanted them to fight if they didn't have the best so it could be better. I wanted them to be positive, to laugh and be happy even when things seemed the worst. I know from the way they have grown into lovely women they are strong, positive and happy. I learned I must have done something right within all my mistakes I had made with decisions and men in my life. I think you will find this book very inspirational, helpful in ways and maybe a little bit humorous.
About the Author
This author has struggled through many different life challenges from childhood to senior citizen. She knew her two girls were the depth of her strength but that her faith in a higher power and love of life was always there. She is just a simple woman with a unique sense of humor and a wish that this book might help one person feeling alone and overpowered with life. If it helps one or maybe two then she knows saving these poems all those years was not in vain.
