About the Book

A Disillusioned World is about a salesman in a new and unknown territory, rediscovering nature, rejection and his imagination. Through the arid months of summer, this door-to-door salesman and his bike will have to embrace storms, angry Mainers and his own failure.

About the Author

Michael Pilarski was born in Maryland Heights, Missouri and is 22 years of age. He is currently a student at the University of Missouri-Columbia and plans to graduate in May 2011 with a major in English with an emphasis in poetry. In the summer of 2010 he devoted his time as a door-to-door salesman of educational materials in Bangor, Maine. A long way from home and friends he discovered a whole new side of the world and a much different culture than he was used to in the Midwest. His experiences with nature and the various people he met inspired this collection of poems and hopes that this can sufficiently express his experiences with the world.
